![]() Hades is what I would hold up as a prime example of the perfect integration of roguelite elements. I did get to a point around 30 hours in that I started hearing some generic repeat voice overs on collecting boons from gods, but Hades is structured in such a way that it’s hardly noticeable. ![]() It’s a staggering amount of unique dialog that continues to deliver the story to the player whether you complete a run or fail early on. There’s assorted character side stories that interweave with Zagreus’ escape attempts. There’s dialog based on which gods’ boons you’ve acquired earlier in a run. I am still hearing unique voice lines based on things like what types of enemies I get killed by, what weapon I use, and what specific aspect (form) of a weapon I choose. I can’t fathom how much recorded dialog must be in this game. Not only is the voice acting itself phenomenal, but the prompts that create these dynamic and unique interactions are always incredible. Honestly, I was just as eager to spend time in the House of Hades as I was to make my way through the Underworld fighting shades and other nasty things that would have me sent back again. It’s paced such that characters never drone on for overly long, and it’s a joy to hear every interaction that Zagreus has with various denizens of the Underworld and Olympian gods, paired with beautiful portraits of each character. The voice acting in Hades is so good, I never skipped any spoken dialog. There’s a lot of mystery surrounding his attempts to leave, but each time Zagreus dies, he is sent back to the Pool of Styx in the House of Hades-minus most of his collected boons, weapon upgrades, and obols-where he can talk to various house servants to learn more. Some runs aren’t anything special, and some can turn into delightfully unexpected combinations of chaos that empower you in ways you didn’t even know possible when you first jumped out of Zag’s bedroom window. Do you want that boon from Ares, or perhaps are you a little short on obols for the boatman Charon this run? Maybe you’re trying to collect gems to fix up the House of Hades? Even when getting boons from the Olympians or picking weapon upgrades with the Hammer of Daedalus, you’re offered from a selection of three choice to best tailor your build. Sometimes you’ll get multiple doors the ability to choose which chamber you want to enter next, and each will show what reward you’ll gain. There’s a healthy balance between randomness and providing some player choice. ![]() Keys, darkness, gems, obols, health upgrades there are a lot of things to collect along the way, much of which is lost should you fall in your attempt to leave the Underworld. Each chamber throughout the Underworld houses a new reward to aid that run (or perhaps something to spend on more permanent upgrades for future escape attempts). Hermes’ boons are all based on modifying your speed in some way. Athena grants abilities that deflect enemy attacks. Zeus might give your attack the ability to emit chain lightning. Along the way, he is aided by assorted gods, who send him boons and blessings that modify each escape attempt. ![]() Zagreus, son of Hades, is attempting to escape the Underworld. Its combat and (literal) gameplay loop is engaging and fun, stopping short of ever feeling repetitive-despite its very nature of asking players to venture back through the Underworld multiple times. Its story is a thrilling mystery with deep and complex characters. Its art style is stunning, using subtle almost unnoticeable flecks and streaks of bright neon colors to make the environments in the underworld pop. Hades is undeniably a Supergiant game, but at the same time so different from every Supergiant game that came before it. Hades is the kind of game awards were made for. ![]() That patience paid off, and I got to go into Hades on the PS5 completely fresh a couple of weeks ago. I’d seen the game’s art, but I knew virtually nothing else about Hades beyond what it looked like and that it was apparently pretty award worthy. I avoided even looking into the game outside of what occasionally came across my Twitter feed. Though I’d heard how the latest from Supergiant was lauded and laden with awards, I was holding out hope that it would one day get a PlayStation release. Supergiant Games might be one of my favorite developers of all time-I loved Bastion and Pyre, and Transistor is probably one of my favorite games ever-but I missed Hades when it first released last year on Switch and PC. ![]()

In most cases, a full mouth periodontal cleaning requires two separate dental visits. Ultrasonic scalers use ultrasonic vibrations and water to break up buildup and flush it out. These tools include traditional hand scalers, curettes, and ultrasonic scalers. ![]() The practitioner uses specific tools designed to reach under the gums and clean the bacterial accumulation off the tooth surface. Only dentists and licensed dental hygienists are trained to perform periodontal cleanings. You should opt for anesthetic if you do not want to feel the process of cleaning under the gums. Periodontal cleanings can be uncomfortable, so you will be offered the option to have local anesthetic. A periodontal cleaning gives each tooth a “clean slate”, allowing the body to heal the areas of inflammation and disease caused by the bacteria. The purpose of a periodontal cleaning treatment is to remove all of the bacterial accumulation underneath the gums. The buildup of bacteria underneath the gums causes this loss of attachment. ![]() The dentist diagnoses periodontal disease when there is a loss of the necessary attachment to the teeth. This diagnosis consists of through an oral evaluation, measurements of the gum and bone attachments to the teeth, and a series of dental x-rays. The Process of a Periodontal Cleaning Diagnosisīefore the dentist or dental hygienist performs a periodontal cleaning, he or she must diagnose periodontal disease. The disease is not stopped and will continue getting worse.Ī periodontal cleaning treats the foundation problem. It merely makes things look a little better for a short period of time. A “regular” cleaning does not fix the problem. This is what it would be like to do a “regular” cleaning on a patient with periodontal disease. If you have foundation problems in your home, it does not do any good to paint over the cracks in your wall. In the worst-case scenario, all of your teeth fall out. As it progresses without treatment, the symptoms worsen into loose teeth and periodontal abscesses (infections). Periodontal disease may start with mild symptoms like bad breath and tender gums. When the foundation is severely unstable, the entire house can fall down. If the foundation problems go untreated and get worse, your floors start to tilt and bricks fall off. ![]() If you have periodontal disease, you have a foundation problem.Īs the foundation underneath a home begins to break down, you may notice some minor issues like cracks around a doorway or a door that sticks. The jawbone and gums, which hold your teeth in place, are the foundation of your teeth. Let’s consider periodontal disease with an analogy to your home’s foundation. Periodontal Disease is a Foundation Problem We must perform a teeth cleaning to treat it.Ī periodontal cleaning is a dental procedure used to treat periodontal disease. If periodontal disease is already present, we cannot perform a teeth cleaning that claims to prevent it. This means the teeth are cleaned in order to prevent disease from developing. The clinical term for a “regular” teeth cleaning is a prophylaxis. A periodontal cleaning is not a “normal” or “regular” teeth cleaning. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I think you guys are "good friends" because you both have a tendency to abuse women, but okay ron."Jersey Shore" alum Roger Matthews opened up about his divorce from ex-wife Jenni Farley, also known as "JWoww." Then he goes on to say that him and Roger are such good friends because "they both deal with cold, mean women". Just because she chose not to talk about her divorce on camera. And there was one point where he was saying that Jenni is cold, has no emotions, is an awful person, etc. And when Ronnie brought up how Jenni isn't talking about her divorce, he shielded it as "oh we want to support you" but then would go and talk shit and show that the real problem was that he wanted to know all the details to gossip about it. And Jenni does know what was going on in the relationship because he put it on blast and talked about it. And Jenni just wants to have a good time and not bring drama around to suck everyone down with her. And Deena brings up a great point at the dude ranch ronnie brings up all the issues and brings all the negativity about his relationship with him everywhere he goes and every trip that they go on together. I am currently watching this season and I don't recall him telling them to stop joking or talking about it. Especially if you don't tell people to stop talking about it. But again, if you are putting yourself and Jen on blast on social media for millions of people to see, you can't then clam up and expect people not to discuss it because you made it public. I think that was his issue more than anything. I remember Ron said he didn’t have a problem with Pauly talking about it, as they both lived in Vegas so he probably had more first hand insight on what was going on but someone like Jenni literally knew nothing about his relationship, yet involved herself in it and talked about it. I think for Ronnie the issue wasn’t so much not having the relationship discussed on camera, it was more who was discussing it. ![]() I think the one on one segments are a bit different, in that the cast can kind of control their narrative, I know Ang&Snooki opened up about their relationships more during the individual interviews as did Jenni and Ronnie. When they were all in Vegas he told them that he doesn’t want to talk about his relationship issues with them and said that Jenni has no place meddling in his relationship when she doesn’t even know Jen 2.0. I remember he did tell the Roomies a few times to cut it out though. I'm just trying to look at it with an open mind. I think things like that continuing to come up have made Ronnie bitter towards the cast members that are consistently guilty of this behavior (mainly Nicole and Jenni).īy the way, I'm not saying what anyone is doing is right or wrong here. Mike is even selling a Secaucus shirt on his website. From my viewpoint, he was trying to say, "Hey! I know this is kind of a flimsy story and I'll tell you the real one off camera, but please don't blow this up because it's not something I want out there." The roommates, of course, did the exact opposite and continued to bring it up and meme-d it out. If you think about it that way, it paints that situation in a completely different light. He knew that it was a flimsy story, but he trusted that his roommates wouldn't make a big deal of it and would move on, but they clearly didn't. Ron clearly didn't want to talk about what really happened, so he fed the roommates a really flimsy story that pretty clearly wasn't true. I obviously understand why she didn't want to talk about it on the show, but it must be tough for Ron and Angelina to sit there and have Jenni nitpick their personal lives while she's going through something pretty major that she's clearly asked the roommates not to discuss. I think they get frustrated when the roommates do it to them, then conveniently are unwilling to discuss their own personal lives. I think Ron and Angelina consistently feel "ganged up on" during the show and like their personal lives are needlessly put on display. Reality television is now a delicate balance of deciding what you want to keep private versus what you're willing to show. I think they feel like Jenni is blasting their personal lives all over the show while not being willing to talk about her own. I think it's a little more complicated than this. ![]() ![]() It’s a cheap rest, but you will need to replace it often. I hunted down the original "Getter Robo" in a bout of nostalgia, and like with most shows you remember watching when you were young, it turned out to be (to take a quote from "Zatch Bell",) "very shit". "Starvengers" was cobbled together from the anime "Getter Robo G", which was the sequel to "Getter Robo", and thus we finally get to the subject of this review. Starvengers" on Wednesdays, and that was my favourite. The show would air during weekdays, with a different series being shown each day. Expectations were different then and it's no surprise things have changed since then! It's good for it's time and personally, I think it's still good. That is somewhat silly though, because Getter Robo didn't air in 2020, it aired in 1974. Tons of reused animation, a monster of the week format that becomes quite predictable, and so on. If one compares Getter Robo to more modern shows of any type, it's terrible. Time for Getter Robo." so in very short: I liked it.ġ0/10 - I didn't try to take it too seriously. I don't think was a time where I was like "Oh yay. I just took it for what it is, a silly, hammy, 70s cartoon about high schoolers beating up dinosaurs. Ryoma and Hayato are the more serious ones, but even then, they still can joke around.Ĭould be because it's the first super robot anime I watched, but I had a great time. They're all decent enough, Musashi is often there to provide some comic relief before Monji and his robot are introduced, and well after they are. I usually skip the openings of animes because I don't like them all that often, but this was one show where skipping "Getter Robo!" would be a silly move. The audio quality isn't the greatest, but well, it's going on 54 years old at this point. It has an epic opening, an epic ending, and lots of great tunes and arrangements of the OP that play during the episode. This is one area where Getter Robo excels. A lot of frames and sequences get reused but like I said, not surprising considering its age and length.ħ/10 - Nothing too outstanding, but not bad. Nothing is particularily busy or confusing, most likely because this was made before everything was done in a computer. This is the second oldest anime I've watched as of the time I'm writing this, so I'm not too familiar with the "par" of 70s anime art. ![]() ![]() However, as the show goes on, a certain pattern starts to develop involving characters introduced past the first few episodes which can get somewhat annoying as it falls into predictability.ĩ/10 for story, despite the fact there isn't really one. just an excuse for Getter Robo to go beat up the monster of the week while the Getter Robo theme blares in the background. To be honest, I do not think it's really a strike against the show. One such series that peaked my interest was Getter Robo, thanks to SRW A's rather prominent usage of Getter Robo. Then I got interested in Super Robot Wars (Original Generation, specifically) and when I decided to try some of the non-OG ones, I got interested in some of the various series that appear in said games. Lackluster lead aside, Risen 2 pulls you into its world, which is not a single spacious territory, but rather a set of scattered tropical islands. Pro tip: kick the warrior while he's doing his fancy gymnastics. But at least it's a wonderful soundtrack: the main Risen theme is riffed on in countless subtle ways, never intruding, yet heightening tension when it's called for. It doesn't help that sound levels are occasionally off, allowing the soundtrack to overwhelm the main character's flatness. That included the returning nameless hero, who speaks in the same monotone as in the previous game. They give Risen 2 plenty of foul-mouthed color but never come into their own.
